The Houzz community has been spreading plenty of Christmas cheer. From tall and dramatic to small and sweet, each tree offers its own festive inspiration. So settle in, enjoy the photos and let the holiday spirit shine through. Houzz readers shared real and artifical trees in all shapes, sizes and colors. Gerace1916’s sweet tabletop tree has a big presence thanks to lovely candle-shaped lights and large, intricately detailed ornaments.
Putting up a tabletop rather than a full-size Christmas tree can keep the holidays from feeling overwhelming, especially when Christmas follows so closely after Thanksgiving. Houzz user Katy M notes that this year she’s having a simpler holiday with a tabletop tree. From outside, it looks like a full-size one.
Sometimes a tree’s size and style are the result of thoughtful compromise. “I’m more minimalistic, so less is more for me,” writes Paula Leffert. She would normally have a 4-foot tree, but she agreed to a traditional size for her husband. “Using white lights and champagne balls helped on the cluttered look for me. I later added the little red balls for color and gave it depth.”
Trimming a Christmas tree brings a festive spirit into a new home. “This is the first Christmas in our newly built home (much of the design/decor inspired by Houzz)!” writes urbanmyth. “Yesterday, we spent a blissful day decorating, listening to carols and sipping mulled spiced cider! So grateful.”

Making ornaments is a favorite tradition for many families. This photo showcases handmade ornaments crafted by three generations of Houzz reader foofaraw’s family.
The hours spent decorating a Christmas tree can create new family memories and be a time to celebrate old ones. “Christmas tree decorating is one of my favorite holiday traditions,” writes Houzz staffer Julie Noble. “Every year we play music and the whole family puts their ornaments on the tree. Every ornament is a gift from years past, marked with the name of the recipient and year given, so each ornament is like unpacking a memory. Our kids take turns placing the angel atop the tree. This year was my youngest son’s first time and he was so excited!”
Upcycling played a role in this lovely tree’s decorations. “Our theme this year is a fruitful xmas! Despite all the hardship this year, we have made it to the end of 2025,” writes rusticchic27. “It was my first time dehydrating lemons…. instead of throwing them away after extracting the juice, we recycled.”
Houzz user steve61ct’s trees coordinate with their settings. This one is full of unexpected colors like chartreuse, violet and deep apricot, which play off the furniture and accessories in the dining room.
This tree posted by jlojudge is downright yummy. All the glass ornaments are food-related.

Kristina Gor describes her enchanting tree as “inspired by nature and its magical inhabitants.” The look continues along the mantel, which she embellished with some of the same kinds of branches and stems that adorn the tree.
Maureen Arata carries her decorating theme from the tree down to the gift boxes beneath it. “I love to decorate my tree with vintage ornaments,” she writes. “The boxes under the tree are from a long past era when department stores packaged your gifts in special boxes.”
If Ted Lasso had a tree, we believe it might look a lot like this one festooned by Revamp Decor & Redesign. Just like soccer balls, the gingham ribbon is black and white. Nestled among green and red ornaments is a simple Christmas message: “Believe.”

Jackie Cab decorated her tree to tie into the architectural style of her home. “My tree has retro ornaments that I’ve collected over the years, to coordinate with the MCM apartment building where I live,” she writes. “I like an understated, minimalist tree that gives a calm and peaceful vibe.”
While some people decorated with a theme in mind, others were all-inclusive. “No theme, just a little bit of every type,” AiFL writes of this lush tree.
“Our tree is filled with a little bit of everything: Shiny Brites, vintage finds, beachy pieces, spaceships, souvenir ornaments, and everything in between,” writes Houzz user seisenhauer1. “We love our tree, and it makes me happy every year to see the items we’ve collected.”
This tree has a special Santa keeping it company. Along with the ornaments on the tree, he represents treasured memories.
“The Santa has stood next to our tree since the passing of my husband’s dad in 2012,” writes Houzz reader dlitt. “We had it made by a local artist. The fur coat was his mother’s, the glasses and scarf were his dad’s. Santa stands 6’ tall. The tree is decorated with ornaments collected through the years and from my parents’ home after their passing in 2015.”
